Our client who are an established organisation with over 40 years experience providing quality payroll services to their clients, are looking for an experienced Payroll Officer with a minimum of 2 years experience on large payrolls.
Role
To ensure an accurate and customer-focused payroll service is provided at all times.
To ensure customers both receive and adhere to the level of service as described within their Service Level Agreement (SLA.)
To develop a strong working relationship with the customer to ensure a long-term partnership.
To assist the Payroll Manager in all aspects of providing payroll services to customers.
Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
Ensure payroll input is received in the correct format to agreed deadlines
Prioritise own work allocation to meet customer SLA`s/deadlines
Ensure all input is accurately entered/imported.
Data validation and the sanity checking of the data received.
Calculate payments manually when required
Produce 1st Edit payrolls to processing schedules.
Resolve all issues from 1st Edit and make corrective actions prior to final output.
Produce final payroll output according to customer processing schedule.
Action all payroll related tasks as requested
Process supplementary runs as required.
Quality
Identify and act on issues that would impact the service to the customer
Ensure `Customer Profiles` of all your payrolls are reviewed and updated after each payroll run.
When appropriate contribute to customer visits
Ensure all processing schedules are agreed and signed off before the end of calendar year.
General
Share knowledge with other team members
Identify your individual training needs and act on this with your Payroll Manager.

Skills
Strong working knowledge of payroll systems.
Actively keep up to date with HMRC Legislation.
Competent in MS Office applications.
Good oral and written communication.

Experience and Qualifications
Must have minimum 2 years` payroll experience
Advance excel skills - advantage
CIPP qualification - advantage
Benefits include
22 days annual leave + bank holidays increased to max 25 with each year of service.
£175 quarterly attendance bonus. No holidays or sickness for consecutive 3 months during 7 or 8 core days.
£150 per month quality team bonus. Team should produce 99.68% accurate payroll in their first edit to the customer.
